NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Friends of Michelle Hull drove up to RJ's Restaurant on their motorcycles on Wednesday night. They even brought hers, but there was much more to her than just her motorcycle.
"She was one of the happiest people in the world," said James Deel, a friend. "She had a beautiful smile."
Friends handed out pictures of that smile. Part of the proceeds from the restaurant's sales from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. went to Hull's family. There's also a website to help them.
Investigators found Hull'sbody on Sunday in a trash can at Dixie Fuel Company. Michael Kerlin is charged with hiding her body, but the Medical Examiner still hasn't explained how she died.
"That was devastating, absolutely devastating," said Annette Firth, a friend. "We all prayed that it wasn't going to turn out like that, but unfortunately it did."
Her friends packed the restaurant. Many of them tried to find her. No one had heard from her for a few days until her body was found.
"Had it not been for these people, Michelle might not have been found yet," said Terry Dudash, her uncle.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday night.
