CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Lewis Fischer is bandaged and bruised after he was beaten and robbed outside of his home on Wednesday.
"Man, when he hit me, I was thinking that might be all she wrote," said Fisher. The 84-year old has stitches and is still sore from the attack.
Fisher had just gotten to his home on Scotia Drive, where he's lived since 1958, when he says he saw someone in his yard. He called out to him and says a second person started hitting him as well. Then, there was a struggle for his car keys.
"They hit me so much that I just let go of the keys," he said.
The two, who he believes are teenagers, stole his 2015 Chrysler 200. Police later found it in Norfolk, but the thieves left Fischer bleeding in his yard. "I was bleeding like a stuck pig."
He called police a short time later and went to the hospital. Fisher believes one of the attackers had some sort of bar.
"I'm hoping they'll catch them because I'd hate for someone else to go through it," he said.
