Crews put out house fire in Norfolk

image2NORFOLK, Va. – Fire crews were on scene of a house fire Thursday afternoon in the Colonial Place section of the city.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews were called to the 5000 block of Colonial Ave. around 12:20 p.m.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke coming from a home’s attic.

One person who had been inside the home when the fire started told firefighters he smelled smoke and found a fire in the attic.

Firefighters got the fire under control by 12:50 p.m.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
