Teen injured in Newport News shooting

Newport News, Va. - A 17-year-old was shot in the leg in the 400 block of Turlington Road Wednesday night.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m.

Police say the victim was seen walking to a vehicle with two other unknown males prior to the shooting.

Police believe this may have been a robbery, as an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the teen.

The unknown males fled the scene after the shooting.

The teen was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
