One killed, two injured in shooting on W. 28th Street in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police say one man was killed and two others were injured during a shooting in the 100 block of West 28th Street on Tuesday night.

Dispatch received a call about the shooting just before 11:30 p.m.

Officers arrived on the scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has been identified as 28-year-old Jalil Skinner.

The second man, a 35-year-old, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A third man, a 26-year-old, ran from the area and was found with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder on 26th Street. He was also transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

This is the second reported shooting on West 28th Street in the past week.

Two people were hurt in another shooting on West 28th Street on May 13. When officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. While police were at the scene, another man came into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
