When you’re craving comfort food, there’s no better way to indulge than with a creamy, delicious bowl of pasta. From a simple bowl of mac and cheese to spaghetti bolognese, from gnocci to lasagna, the Italian staple can satisfy any pang of hunger.
Of course, usually when you decide to order a pasta dish, you know that it’s not going to be a light meal. But there are some dishes that are so far on the calorific side of the spectrum that they equal almost a full day’s worth of meals.
With this in mind, HealthGrove, a Graphiq site, aggregated the most caloric pasta dishes at 10 nationally known chain restaurants. The data is pulled from menus as of 5/12/16.
Pastas with cheesy sauces dominate the list — especially mac and cheeses and alfredo pastas, which consist of 28 percent of the most calorific dishes. So when you’re out and looking for the comfort of a creamy pasta dish, make sure you know exactly what you’re biting into.
