VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – U.S. Congressman Randy Forbes and Delegate Scott Taylor will face off Friday afternoon in the U.S. 2nd District Congressional Republican Debate at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
The debate is presented by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

Rep. Forbes and Del. Taylor are both vying for Senator Scott Rigell’s seat in the 2nd District, which includes all of the City of Virginia Beach, Accomack County, Northampton County, York County and parts of Norfolk and Hampton.
Sen. Rigell announced in early 2016 that he would not be seeking reelection in November.
Rep. Forbes currently serves as as the representative of the 4th Congressional District, which covers all or part of the counties of Amelia, Brunswick, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Isle of Wight, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince George, Southampton, Sussex, and the cities of Chesapeake, Colonial Heights, Emporia, Franklin, Hopewell, Petersburg, and Suffolk.
Taylor, a former Navy SEAL, was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2013.
