VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - May 20 is National Bike to Work Day. The day encourages individuals to think about their transportation decisions and gives people a chance to ride a bike to work.
Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms hosted a Bike with the Mayor event, where he biked to work as well. He led a group of citizens from the Princess Anne Recreational Center to City Hall.
In recent years, Virginia Beach has expanded its number of bikeways making riding a bike to work an economical and healthy alternative to gas-powered vehicles. The event was sponsored by Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation.
