Kohl’s surprises ‘Chewbacca lady’ with toys, gift cards for her entire family

Posted

It all started with a trip to Kohl’s.

Candace Payne went to the department store to return clothes and while she was there, she purchased a Chewbacca mask.

The mask makes the Wookie’s iconic cry when the mouth is opened and closed, which thrilled Candace to no end. She shot a Facebook live video in the parking lot.

And as much as Payne loved the mask, users on social media have eaten up the video. As of Sunday evening, the video has been watched more than 130 million times and been shared more than 3,000,000 times.

A few days after the video was posted, Kohl’s stopped by Payne’s house to surprise her with Star Wars gifts for her entire family, including Chewbacca masks for her children.

“We don’t want you to stress about sharing your mask, so we confiscated a mask for everybody,” a Kohl’s representative told Payne.

She also received $2,500 in store gift cards and 10,000 rewards points.
