CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A 54-year-old man has died after running off of the road and hitting a tree in the 1700 block of Long Ridge Road.
It happened on Monday just before 5 p.m.
The driver died at the scene. He has been identified as Herman Jehoich of the 800 block of Bright Leaf Place.
Police say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
No other vehicles were involved.
