PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police have identified a man who they believe shot a 13-year-old boy.
Police are looking for 20-year-old Sakemio N. Beale. Beale has warrants out for felonious assault, shooting into a moving vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The teen walked into the Maryview Medical Center emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder on Monday around 5:50 p.m.
The boy said that he was hit by gunfire near Hickory Street and was driven to the hospital for treatment.
Police officers located a crime scene in the 2500 block of Hickory Street.
Detectives say the boy was not the intended target of the shooting.
