Woman stabbed and robbed at Newport News motel

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Woman stabbed just a day after meeting a man at a train station.

Police were called to the Newport News Inn on Jefferson Ave around 2 p.m. on Sunday. When they got there they found a 22-year-old woman from Kentucky with deep cuts to her hand, shoulder and abdomen.

The woman told police on Saturday night she had met a man at the train station and they exchanged phone numbers. The next day the two agreed to meet at her hotel room.

Police say right before the man left the room, he pulled a knife on the woman and demanded money before he cut her several times. He left the hotel after taking the money from the woman.

Newport News police are still looking for the suspect who is described as being approximately 6’0″ tall, skinny build, with a goatee. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a white long-sleeve shirt and white Jordan tennis shoes.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
