Portion of South Rosemont Road closed due to high water has reopened

Update: Virginia Beach Emergency Dispatchers say the portion of South Rosemont Road, between Silina Drive and Club House Road, that was closed due to high water has reopened.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - South Rosemont Road between Silina Drive and Club House Road in Virginia Beach was temporarily closed due to high water Monday night.

Virginia Beach Police first tweeted about the closure around 8:40 p.m.

Reporter Kim Cung spoke with officers at the location who told her that between six and 10 cars were stuck in the high water when they arrived on scene.

As of 10:30 p.m., there was no word on when the road might reopen.
