LAKE GASTON – An 18-year-old Dare County resident drowned May 29 while swimming in Lake Gaston, according to the Northampton County (NC) Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities say Dylan Turner was swimming in the lake with some friends. They were going pier to pier when Turner reportedly became exhausted and went under the water.
Rescue units were called and his body was recovered approximately 10 minutes later.
