Police arrest man in connection with Norfolk fatal shooting

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a man shot and killed Sunday afternoonin the Huntersville neighborhood.

Shelton Givens, 40, was arrested on Monday. He is charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Dispatchers received the call about the shooting just before 2:45 Sunday afternoon.

Police say 41-year-old Kenneth Britt was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 800 block of Johnson Avenue.

Paramedics pronounced Britt dead on the scene.

Givens is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
