ELIZABETH CITY, NC. – AfforableSchools.Net has ranked Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) the #1 most affordable historically black college and university (HBCU). The list was compiled out of 84 HBCUs in the United States.
A number of variables were considered in the ranking, including tuition, both in and out of state, federal grants and loans, as well as transfer rates. The website uses this formula to rank schools throughout the US according to their affordablity.
In addition to the AffordableSchools.Net rating, the University has received top ratings from Washington Monthly and was also rated number 18 out of the top 50 HBCUs in the country by CollegeChoice.Net.
