Elizabeth City man wanted for 2015 murder in Pennsylvania

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Pennsylvania authorities are looking for a 37-year-old Elizabeth City man wanted in the 2015 murder of a 63-year-old man during a robbery near Philadelphia.

The Delaware County District Attorney, along with other local and federal officials announced in June 2016 that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rodney Talbo Shelton II for the murder of Thomas Childs.

Authorities say Childs was murdered on June 9, 2015 during a robbery outside Ridgway Industries in Yeadon Borough, Pennsylvania, which is located just outside of Philadelphia.

Shelton, of the 900 block of Shillingtown Road, Elizabeth City, is charged with first, second and third-degree murder, robbery and various related firearms charges.

Officials say he is known to frequent the Philadelphia, Atlanta and Elizabeth City areas.

Anyone with information on Shelton’s whereabouts is asked to call the Citizens Crime Commission Tip Line at 215-546-TIPS. Tipsters who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of Shelton may be eligible for a $20,000 reward.
