IT issues close Virginia International Gateway

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – An IT issue caused major problems at the Virginia International Gateway terminal in Portsmouth Wednesday.

As a result of the issues, VIG’s truck gates will remain closed Wednesday. Intra-terminal activities, including vessel and rail work, will commencing Wednesday evening.

Truck gates will open Thursday from 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with inbound portals closing at 5:00 p.m.

The gateway terminal will be open six hours longer than regularly scheduled on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with inbound portals closing at 5:00 p.m.

Any loaded container at VIG with a “terminal last free day” on June 8 will be extended one additional free day to the account of the ocean carrier.
