NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) was turned around at Newport News Shipbuilding’s Pier 3 on Saturday.
Shipbuilders, sailors and five tugboat crews worked together for almost two hours to turn the Ford 180 degrees, moving the ship one step closer to delivery.
CVN 78’s stern now faces the James River.
