YORKTOWN, Va. – The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has opened its newest store in Yorktown.

The store, located at 201 Tradesman Way, is part of the multi-use development Nelson’s Grant. It is the 359th ABC store in Virginia.

Virginia ABC held a grand opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on June 3. The first 25 customers received a free gift.

“Residents are clearly happy with this store’s arrival,” said Virginia ABC Chairman Jeffrey Painter. “In fact, numbers show that they have already responded very positively—each day during the first week the store was open it nearly doubled its business. I’m confident that being on a main thoroughfare in an area that is experiencing great growth will be a good fit.”

The store is the fourth of its kind to open in 2016. It’s the third location in Yorktown and one of five in York County.

The location will have over 1,000 products, including 216 bourbon items, 234 vodka items and Virginia-made wine and spirits.

The store will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“Virginia ABC is excited about expanding our retail presence in York County,” Painter added. “We are always seeking new locations to make our extensive product selection available for Virginia shoppers. This beautiful free-standing location will also serve travelers who are visiting the attractions in the Yorktown area, such as the battlefield and riverwalk, and allow them to explore our Virginia spirit offerings as well.”
