HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau will host an LGBT Family Conference for Pride Week.
Wednesday, the Virginia LGBT Family Expo will take place at m2 Pictures. The general public is invited to visit with vendors that understand the needs of the LGBT community. The expo is free and open to the public.
Visiting families will have the opportunity to partake in pre-conference familiarization tours of Hampton family attractions as well.
The second annual Pride Party will also be Wednesday on the Peninsula from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The Pride Party is presented by the Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau and Downtown Hampton Development Partnership, and is free to the public.
The party will take place at Oyster Alley in the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel.
The first 300 guests will receive a complimentary drink ticket with a cash bar after. Other highlights include complimentary food and raffle drawings.
Thursday, the Virginia LGBT Family Conference opens at m2 Pictures.
Organizations represented at this year’s conference include the Trans Youth Equality Foundation, Equality Virginia, ACCESS AIDS and the LGBT Center of Hampton Roads, and more.
Those who register for a room at the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel will receive access for two adults and two children to attend the conference for free. Those who don’t want to book a room but want to attend Thursday’s conference can pay $25.00 per person on-site, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
