NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A tow truck driver was injured after a man shot at his tow truck while he was on the job.
On June 16 at 2:05 a.m., police received a call about a shooting in the 500 block of Purlieu Drive.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, told officers he was attempting a legal tow of a gray Ford Taurus not authorized to park in a parking lot when a group of people came out of an apartment and started to yell at him.
A man took out his gun and shot at the tow truck several times. He is described as a black man between 5’10-6’0 wearing a ball cap with shoulder length dreadlocks.
The victim left the area after sustaining a wound to his forehead from the gunfire. He is expected to be okay.
His tow truck was hit several times by the gunfire.
