NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk neighborhoods will get their chance to be recognized for their outstanding performance at the first ever Neighbors Building Neighborhoods award show and conference. Love Your Neighborhood Summer of Love will be held June 25 at Virginia Wesleyan College.
This event will bring leaders from different neighborhoods together to share different tactics in how to form or maintain a friendly, inviting environment. The awards given out will cover everything from “Best Small Neighborhood Business” award all the way up to “Best Overall Neighborhood.”
“It’s an opportunity to receive information, and it also allows the attendees to fellowship and learn from their peers,” said James Rogers, Director of Neighborhood Development.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the conference will begin at 9 a.m. in the Boyd Dining Center at Virginia Wesleyan College.
Tickets are available for $10. They will include breakfast, lunch, informational workshops, and a keynote address from Executive Producer and host of WHRO studio’s Another View, Barbara Hamm Lee.
