NORFOLK, Va. - One woman is dead and another has been hospitalized after a shooting incident.
Friday at 11:45 p.m., dispatch received a call for gunshots heard in the 800 block of A Avenue.
When police arrived, officers found a woman on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.
She was later identified as 28-year-old Teresa Hunter of Portsmouth.
As officers began investigating the incident, DePaul Medical Center reported a gunshot victim that walked into the hospital for treatment.
According to police, the woman was near the 800 block of A Avenue when she was shot. She is expected to be okay.
Detectives have not released a description of the suspect.
