PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Portsmouth Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Department is the 2016 Tidewater Outstanding EMS Agency award winner.
Fire Chief Dwayne Bonnette accepted the award on behalf of the department on at a Norfolk Tides Baseball Game at Harbor Park.
“We knew we were finalists, but we didn’t know until then that we were selected as the winner. This is a testament to all the EMS providers that serve the residents and visitors of Portsmouth daily,” said Fire Chief Bonnette.
The department is now a nominee for the 2016 Governor’s EMS Award for the Outstanding EMS Agency. The winner of the Governor’s award will be announced in November.
