VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – One person is dead and two people are in the hospital after a single vehicle crash.
It happened early Monday morning on Shore Drive near Kendall Street. The call came in at 1:12 a.m.
Police say a sedan was travelling westbound on Shore Drive when it went off of the roadway, first hitting a sign and then a tree.
Three people were taken to the hospital. One of the victims died from his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Antwaun Carter of Portsmouth.
The Virginia Beach Police Department Fatal Crash Team is investigating the accident.
According to police, charges are pending.
