Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast

Several days with storm chances… Highs will return to the mid 80s this afternoon with a mix a sun and clouds. Scattered showers and storms will fire up this afternoon as a stationary front stays draped across eastern NC. Some storms could be strong to severe but overall severe activity will be very isolated. Our biggest threat will be for heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Rain and storm chances will remain in the forecast as the stationary front drifts over the Mid-Atlantic for the next several days. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers and storms possible again tomorrow, but our severe threat will be slightly lower. It will be hotter tomorrow, with highs making a run at 90.

A cold front will join up with the stationary front on Saturday but the forecast sees no big changes. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers and storms for Saturday, Sunday and early next week. Every day will not be a complete wash out, but plan for scattered showers and storms to mix in, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours each day. Highs will stay in the mid 80s for the weekend and 4th of July.

Today: Partly Sunny, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: E/SE 5-10
