CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Two people have died as a result of a crash on Route 58.
The crash happened Sunday at around 3:20 p.m. on Route 58 west bound east of Snowden Road.
A Virginia State Police spokesperson says the driver of a 1999 Ford Contour was traveling westbound on Route 58, ran off the roadway and then struck a tree.
The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Brandon O’Neil Riddick of Suffolk. The passenger has been identified as 18-year-old Kendra Shalante Fitchett of Chesapeake.
Both people in the car were wearing a seat belts and alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
