NORFOLK, Va. – Two people working at the BAE facility in Norfolk were hospitalized Wednesday after suffering heat exhaustion.

BAE spokesman Karl Johnson tells News 3 one BAE worker and a contractor working at the site were both transported to a local hospital just before Noon to be checked out.

The BAE worker took himself to the medical facility on site before being transported to the hospital, Johnson said.

Johnson also noted that workers are expected to be responsible for themselves and speak up if they’re not feeling well. The site also encourages supervisors to check on workers to make sure they’re okay.

Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to reach the 90s with a heat index over 100 degrees. Workers exposed to the elements should take extreme caution.
