SMITHFIELD, Va. – Several 911 calls were received Friday afternoon in reference to a man who appeared to have been shot.
According to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located a man in a car with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was found in the 4800 block of Old Stage Highway in the Rushmere area.
Rescue Crews were able to treat and transfer the man to Riverside Regional Medical Center.
The man is expected to survive.
A preliminary investigation revealed the shooting occurred in Surry County.
Two juveniles were identified as suspects and were detained near the area where the shooting occurred.
