NORFOLK, Va. – Personnel inside several Naval Station Norfolk buildings were ordered to shelter in place for a short time Friday due to an investigation into a suspicious vehicle.
According to base officials, during the inspection of a car at Gate 4, explosive residue was detected.
All personnel in buildings that begin with the letters “SP” were ordered to shelter in place in accordance with facility Emergency Action Plans.
The all clear was given after investigators determined the residue was not life threatening.
