A grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the store Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
Fifty full and part time employees will be hired at the store, located at 1011 University Boulevard in Harbour View.
The store is approximately 25,000 square feet and is a capital investment of just under $1 million.
The store is now open to the public. Store hours will be Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
“Suffolk’s growing retail tenant mix has transformed Harbour View into a shopping destination that our community is proud of,” said Suffolk Mayor Linda T. Johnson. “Thank you to Ross for choosing Suffolk as your new home and we wish you much success.”
Ross offers name-brand clothing at prices typically 20 percent to 60 percent lower than department and specialty stores. The store stocks a variety of items, including toys and games, small furnishings, luggage and jewelry.
Ross will make a donation to the Suffolk Boys and Girls Club as part of the grand opening.
