SUSSEX CO., Va. – A 45-year-old man was killed in a crash early Tuesday on Route 35 in Sussex County, according to Virginia State Police.
VSP say James Ray Warbrough of Waverly was driving northbound on Route 35 in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado around 6:15 a.m. when he ran off the road and hit a tree head on.
Police say Warbrough died instantly. He was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol nor speed are factors in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
