Not as hot now, but it won’t last long….As we move through today and tomorrow, we’re getting a break from some of the extreme heat and humidity, but it won’t last long. We’re tracking highs in the 90s through the weekend.

As we move through our Wednesday afternoon, expect highs in the mid 80s. A few widely scattered showers and storms could pop up here and there, courtesy of the daytime heating and a cold front that has pushed to our south. Any storms that develop have the potential to produce heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning. Otherwise, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds. A few scattered showers are also possible early this evening. However, most of us will see mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with low temperatures in the lower 70s.

On Thursday, we’re expecting another warm day with high temperatures in the mid 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. A few stray showers are possible, but overall, we’re not expecting widespread rain.

Then, the heat and humidity return in a big way for the weekend. Highs will climb into the lower 90s on Friday and the mid 90s for both Saturday and Sunday. When you factor in the humidity, we will have triple digit heat index values. An isolated shower or storm is possible this weekend. Next week, the 90s will stick around through midweek.

Today: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: E/NE 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Isolated Showers/Storms (20%). Lows in the low 70s. Winds: E 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: A Few Clouds. Stray Showers (20%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.
