RICHMOND, Va. – Redskins linebacker Junior Galette, who missed the entire 2015 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon, has suffered the same fate.

NFL Network’s Rand Getlin reported Monday Galette is out for the 2016 season after tearing his Achilles again. However, this time, Galette has torn his other Achilles.

Tuesday, Washington head coach Jay Gruden confirmed Galette’s injury to ESPN 950 in Richmond.

“Junior did everything he had to do to get his Achilles ready to play this year, worked as hard as anybody in the weight room,” Gruden told ESPN 950. “He was doing some standard get-offs I guess and popped the other [Achilles].”

Galette tweeted video of him working out, with the caption: “Haven’t felt so good best shape of my life and this happens to me now Idk what else to so when does da rain stop.”

Washington signed Galette to a second consecutive one-year deal in March after he sat out 2015 following his 10-sack performance with the New Orleans Saints in 2014.

The Redskins open training camp Thursday.
