Norfolk, Va. - Saturday, Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale, currently tied for the American League lead in wins with 14, was scratched from his scheduled start at home vs. Detroit. The reason Sale was unable to pitch is that he was sent home by White Sox officials.

“Chris has been suspended for violating team rules, for insubordination and for destroying team equipment,” White Sox General Manager Rick Hahn said in a statement Sunday. “While we all appreciate Chris’ talent and passion, there is a correct way and an incorrect way to express concerns about team rules and organizational expectations.”

The 27-year old Sale, who started Major League Baseball's All-Star game earlier this month, reportedly destroyed the throwback uniforms Chicago was scheduled to wear because they are uncomfortable for him.
