VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle in the 100 block of London Bridge Road, near the entrance to southbound I-264.
Calls reporting the incident were received by police dispatchers around 5:30 a.m.
The victim, an adult man, was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police say the Virginia Beach Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating and the initial investigation has revealed that the pedestrian stepped into the road in the lane of traffic when he was hit.
The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
