Minneapolis, Minn. – Vikings backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke, a former Old Dominion standout, will miss the start of training camp after suffering a bizarre ankle injury.

According to ESPN.com’s Ben Goessling, Heinicke could miss three months with a torn tendon in his left ankle.  Heinicke suffered the injury when attempting to enter his friend’s home after the two had been locked out. The former Monarchs QB attempted to force the door open with his foot, but slipped and had his foot go through the window.
