NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Police are investigating after a woman who was walking outside was shot in the leg in a possible drive-by shooting
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., a 24-year-old woman was walking in the 1300 block of Roanoke Ave. when she heard four shots and was hit by a bullet in the lower leg.
According to police, her injury was deemed non life-threatening at the scene. She was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A black SUV and a silver four door vehicle were observed speeding from the area.
