NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A single vehicle crash on I-64 in Newport News ended in a fatality, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on July 29.
Artisha Chanel Johnson, 28, was traveling eastbound on I-64 in a 2009 Honda Civic when she lost control of the car, swerved off the road and hit a tree.
Johnson died at the scene from her injuries.
The woman was wearing her seat belt. According to police, alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
