Storms cause flooding, power outages across Hampton Roads Sunday evening

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Strong storms moving across Hampton Roads caused flooding, power outages and more Sunday evening.

As of 8:50 p.m., Dominion Virginia Power was reporting more than 7,000 customers without power in Hampton Roads. Most of the outages were in Hampton, Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel was briefly closed to all traffic during the height of the storms.

In Chesapeake, the storms caused a tree to fall on Elbow Road near Centerville Turnkpike. Heavy flooding was also reported by News 3 viewers in this area.

In Virginia Beach, heavy flooding was reported along Shore Drive.
