DARE COUNTY, NC – Two men were arrested on August 1 after investigators were tipped off that the men were bringing cocaine to Dare County to distribute.
Investigators with the Dare County Narcotics Task Force received information that the vehicle the men were traveling in was bringing in cocaine from Florida.
The men entered Dare County just after 8 p.m. and they were stopped by authorities a short time later.
During a search of the vehicle, investigators located approximately four ounces of cocaine and an amount of Heroin.
Joshua Charles Warren Hancock, 37, and Dennis John Norman, 34, were both arrested.
Hancock was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances. He was released on a $50,000 secured bond.
Norman was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and felony possession of heroin. He was released on a $60,000 bond.
Police say additional charges are expected.
