Two arrested after Virginia Beach Police K-9 bites suspect

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A Virginia Beach K-9 officer bit a suspect early Friday morning.

On August 5 at around 3:24 a.m., an officer saw a car speeding and driving erratically. The officer tried to get the car to pull over at Hunting Hill Lane and Westgrove Lane.

When the car finally stopped in the 800 block of Romney Lane, the occupants ran out of the car.

The K-9 was released and helped officers catch the two suspects. Medics responded for a dog bite and the subject refused treatment.

Two males have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Jaquan Javon Cherry, 20,  has been charged with Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny, two counts of Conspiracy to Trespass, Credit Card Theft, Auto Tampering and Possession of Marijuana. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

A 16-year-old from Norfolk, has been charged with Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny, two counts of Conspiracy to Trespass, Credit Card Theft and Auto Tampering. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Detention Center without bond.
