16-year-old arrested in fatal Hampton shooting, police search for second suspect

HAMPTON, Va. – A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting on August 6.

Officers were called to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Milford Avenue and Bright Street around 10:50 p.m.

Police located 20-year-old Antoine Christopher St. Lawrence from Portsmouth in the road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Lawrence was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries where he later died.

A home was struck by a single bullet during the incident but there were no injuries to the occupants.

An investigation into the incident revealed the victim and the two suspects were in the area meeting for the purchase of a firearm.

Both suspects displayed a firearm, demanded the victim’s money, then shot the victim multiple times and fled on foot.

A 16-year-old juvenile has been arrested and charged with one count Murder, one count of Robbery, one count of Use of  a Firearm in Commission of  a Felony, and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’8″-5’9″ with a small goatee, last seen wearing dark clothing.
