PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Police are investigating what they believe is an accidental shooting of a teenager Sunday afternoon.
It happened in the 100 block of Carol lane just before 4:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg.
The teenager was taken to the hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
At this time, detectives believe the shooting was accidental.
