Police in Portsmouth continue investigation for early morning shooting

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Detectives in Portsmouth are continuing their investigation of a shooting that occurred  early Sunday morning.

Police got the call for the shooting in the 1600 block of Prentis Avenue around 5 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wound to his leg.

He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to be okay.

Officials do not have any information on a suspect in this case.
