Freshly toasted smores with large white marshmallows.Wednesday is National S’mores day!

If you’re not familiar with the sweet treat, the traditional way to make it is to roast a marshmallow over a campfire (or any flame for those not in the great outdoors).

Once you’ve roasted your marshmallow to your desired crispy preference, sandwich it between two graham crackers and a layer of chocolate.

One thing about s’mores that you may not already know is that people all over around the country hold Guinness World Records that have to do with the treat.

The Guinness World Record for the largest s’more was made in Pennsylvania and weighs 267 pounds. The record was set at Deer Run Camping Resort in May of 2014.

The Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously making s’mores is 423 and was set by Hollister and SeriousFun Children’s Network in Huntington Beach.

If you’d like to try and set a record, the tallest stack of s’mores is listedto be attempted. It’s a record to be set by an individual or a team of unlimited size and will be measured to the nearest 100th of a centimeter.
