PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Portsmouth Police are investigating a shooting where they say a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg early Wednesday.
Just after 1 a.m., police were called to the 600 block of Edwards Street after receiving reports of a person injured in a shooting.
They arrived to find the 15-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wound to the lower leg.
The victim told police he was hit twice after a vehicle pulled up to him and his friends and began firing a gun. The victim and his friends ran from the area, but he was still hit.
The teen was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There is no suspect or motive information at this time.

This is the fourth child to be shot this week in Hampton Roads. Three children, ages 10, 16 and 16, were shot Monday in a Newport News neighborhood.
