VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A party at a home in the Bay Colony neighborhood got out of control on Tuesday night, leading to thousands of dollars worth of damage.
The home is under renovation. The contractor says there were no signs of forced entry, so it's not clear how the party started on York Lane.
"Frankly, I was surprised for the number of youth who were apparently attending," said Jack Carter, a neighbor. "It was a bit of a surprise."
The homeowner isn't living there right now as the house is under renovations. Neighbors are hoping it doesn't happen again. "Hopefully, they can find out whoever instigated it," said Carter.
Police have assigned a detective to the case. So far, no arrests have been made.
