PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police have released the name of the victim in the fatal accident on I-264 that closed east and westbound lanes Tuesday night.
The accident was east of Fredrick Boulevard in Portsmouth.
State Police say 55 year-old Jeanette Nancy Fatjo of the 2500 block of Oakleaf Place in Portsmouth was driving westbound when she lost control of the 2007 Chevy Equinox she was driving. Fatjo then ran off the road and struck the concrete jersey wall. She died at the scene.
There was also a12 year-old child in the car with Fatjo during the accident. The child suffered minor injuries.
State police say Fatjo was not impaired but she was not wearing her seat belt.
